What do you sell at the market?: weaving, sculpture, copper work
Where have you come from? I grew up at Kare Kare beach on the West Coast of Auckland. My parents were real do it your selfers. We lived in a tipi while they built our house, which evolved overtime into a work of art in itself.
Why did you choose to work in the medium you do?: I have always loved working with found materials. Surrounded by nature as a child I was a big shell collector and was always making things. While at art school completing a bachelor or three dimentional design I did a night class in flax weaving and have been hooked on basketry ever since.
What do you love about the market?: The market is a real fruit salad, there are some real characters among us. It's very social and we are all a bit of a family. It's also been a great outlet to showcase my creativity while bringing up a young family.
Who is your biggest inspiration?: My mum, the mother of six amazing kids. She is a wonderful beautiful creative woman and a true inspiration.
What's the one thing you can't live without?: My family and regular road trips to the coast.
What has been your biggest adventure?: Following the love of my life to Arrowtown. which i did not know existed until I moved here.
