Name: Jason Law
Business Name: Jason Law Photography
Where are you from?:  Queenstown Local
What do you sell at the market?: Photographic Prints of New Zealand Landscapes

Where have you come from? Originally from West Auckland, I have lived in Queenstown since 2010.  I moved to Queenstown after returning from nearly 5 years of travelling and working abroad.  I wanted to be closer to my family who are still in Auckland, where I have two beautiful nephews, but I needed to find a place where my soul would be more at rest.  Queenstown was the best option at the time and I haven't looked back since.

Why did you choose to work in the medium you do?: Photography enables me to take my creativity with me whilst I explore my beautiful country.  I am very passionate about sharing my experiences with others, and bringing nature into peoples everyday lives.  Photography has taught me to become aware, to appreciate the moment and slow down and not be in such a rush to go anywhere other than where I am in that moment.  Photography has changed how I view the world, and has helped me to find a purpose with my life.

What do you love about the market?: The market is a great place to meet people from all over the world.  It provides me with the opportunity to share my work with people who have also had a small taste of the beauty of New Zealand.

Who is your biggest inspiration?:  I find inspiration from everywhere, I don't have one inspiration that is greater than the rest, or even one inspiration of note.  Mostly I want to do my beautiful country justice by capturing moments of natural beauty as best as my craft allows, everything inspires.  I want to leave a legacy behind with my time on this earth showing how much the land of New Zealand has given my life meaning.

What's the one thing you can't live without?: There is no 'thing' that I can't live without.. Things don't result in living.  But to live a life of self awareness and passion gives me a reason to keep living and to keep pursuing mastery of my craft.  If I didn't own a camera, I would find some other way of sharing perhaps by writing or painting.  Sometimes I wish I didn't own a camera, it certainly would be cheaper, probably not too many photographers around that would say that.. haha

What has been your biggest adventure?: My photography career has been one huge adventure of self discovery. There is no escaping the rollercoaster of being a passionate self employed creative, I gave up so much to pursue this, a lot of people don't realise what is involved in the journey, I turned my back on what was safe and secure but I wouldn't trade that for anything.  The adventure keeps growing and I feel I have only scratched the surface of this beautiful landscape I call home.
